100 Subscribers!?!
A round of coffee and pie on the house!
Always Wonder, Always Write has officially hit 100 (plus) subscribers, and my heart is overflowing. To those who first believed in this idea factory, thank you for being my foundation.
To those who have recently joined, you are awesome! Welcome and feel free to poke around and look in the closets. Give me a shout if you have questions or comments.
I must also thank Cynthia A Young, šAuthor and Megan G. Mossgrove for recommending me to their cohort.
To celebrate, Iām serving up pie (aka the best kindāfree pie!):
Current Paid Subscribers: Iāve just extended your subscriptions by an extra year on the house.
New Explorers: Read around the archives, enjoy the upcoming posts. If you like what you see, and you upgrade by March 31, 2026, you lock in the $55/year rate for life.
In fact, anyone who upgrades to Paid by March 31 will lock in the $55/year rate for life.
The News: On April 1 (no fooling!), the price moves to $70/year, and $8/month. Iām hoping to raise some travel funds so I can do some grassroots visits with writers and also research locations for a new project. I also plan to support some of the other Substacks I enjoy. Iāll do a post on those soon! (writes it down, must NOT forget).
Things are heating up at Jay Ann Cox Writing Works. In the near future, Iāll be previewing chapters from Writing in Nebraska for everyone. For now, that title is sticking, and even has a subtitle and a tagline.
Title: Writing in Nebraska: The practical, no-nonsense guide to producing first drafts.
Tagline: How to wrangle your wild creativity and give it a home on the page.
Paid subscribers will get exclusive access to a weekly audio storytime called (for now) āReverie in the Maple Treeā as well as behind-the-scenes drafts.
Iām energized by this new pace. My schedule wonāt allow me to rush a full copy of the book to market, plus Iām impatient. I think that combo has always made me a good essayist, scholar, blogger and short story maven.
Grab your knapsack and get in the car! The engine is runningāglad youāre riding shotgun.
Always wonder, always write, my chickens.

Three things
1. Everyone loves a little discount - I got so excited to get my subscription extended for a year
2. Please include this writer in your travel plans. There's a guest apartment in my building - sayin'
3. Congrats on 100 plus
You go girl!
